Revitalization of local communities through renewable energy supply

Since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, the energy situation in Japan has been evolving dramatically, and the importance of renewable energy is recognized again. It is regarded as Japanes policy to introduce and promote renewable energy in rural areas which will depend upon local characteristics. Urbanization will lead to employment opportunities as well as revitalization of local areas.

In order to increase monetary investments in renewable power plants / facilities as well as to promote usage of renewable energy, the Japanese Diet passed a law in July 2012, The Act on Special Measures, which deals with Procurement of Renewable Energy by Electric Utility Companies. Under the Act, Japanese electric utility companies are obligated to purchase solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and biomass generated power on contractual basis, with fixed prices decided by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Our primary aim is to revitalize and local communities through power supply. We believe that promoting renewable energy through usage of rural area resources, such as agricultural, water, forest water, biomass, and idle lands, will create new employment and revitalize rural areas.
